Mix together in a heavy glass bowl:


1 litre Sherry

2 sticks Cinnamon

125 ml sugar

100ml lemon juice


Cover the bowl and place it in a stand over a tea-light or on the hearth to stay warm. Do not overheat or the alcohol may ignite. Place a slice of lemon and a stick of Cinnamon in each cup as a garnish.

Figgy PuddingV

Cream together:

100ml margarine

100ml dark brown sugar

50ml white sugar

100 ml breadcrumbs

Stir in together:

15 ml flour

5 ml baking powder

15 ml lemon juice

10 dried reconstituted figs, chopped finely

100ml mixed peel, chopped finely

50ml marischino cherries and liquor

50g candied cherries

8ml cinnamon

2ml nutmeg

1 ml cloves

steam 6 hours
