Quick Apfelkuchen

serves 4 to 6

Grease 8 x 8 inch tins

2 c. flour

Sift together

3 tsp. baking powder

1 tbsp. sugar

1/2 tsp. salt

4 tbsp. Crisco

Add Crisco. Work into dry ingredients as for pie dough.

1 egg

Break egg into milk; beat and add to mixture; mix until all flour mixture is formed into a soft dough. Spread dough.

1/2 c milk

5 to 6 apples

Peel and cut apples into small wedges; arrange on top of dough.. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.


Sprinkle over kuchen if desired
