(Oat Bread)
serves 4 to 6
500ml milk | Microwave together 2 minutes on high, then 5 minutes on low to allow oats to soften and cook |
50g honey | |
30g hemp hearts | |
30g steel-cut oats | |
200g rolled oats | |
7 grams yeast | Sprinkle over top of porridge. Let sit until foamy to prove the yeast |
5 grams salt | Mix together. Add to the porridge. Knead until smooth and elastic. Let rise approximately one hour. It will increase in size but will not double. |
300g whole wheat flour | |
Heat oven to 350 degrees with a pizza stone in it. Shape loaf into a round loaf and let rise on a sheet of parchment about half an hour. When risen, place on stone in oven and bake 40 minutes |
